Osborne House Queen Victoria's seaside home, Osborne House, just 2 miles away gives an intriguing glimpse into the family life of our former Queen. Enjoy the grandeur of the Royal Apartments, including the Durbar Room, with its exquisite collection of gifts given to Queen Victoria by the Indian people. A Swiss cottage complete with miniature furniture was built in the grounds for the royal children, and is fascinating. A Victorian Walled Garden and the Terrace Garden which overlooks the Solent will delight any garden enthusiast. There is also a fine 9 hole golf course and clubhouse. Carisbrooke Castle Discover the history of the island's foremost castle. Once prison to Charles I, this royal castle was also the residence of Queen Victoria's daughter, Princess Beatrice. Bembridge Windmill Owned and maintained by The National Trust, Bembridge Windmill is the island's only surviving windmill. Though the windmill is no longer working, it does still contain much of its original wooden machinery. Climb the ladders to the top and experience the breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
